Dobrinj has been the cultural and historical
center of the municipality carrying the same name since as
long as people can remember. The Dobrinj municipality consists
of twenty-one picturesque villages situated in the northeast
part of the Krk Island and representing one of its most preserved
oases, rich with cultural and historic sights. Unspoiled
nature and a pleasant climate offers an ideal rest for body & soul.
The most characteristic sights of the old
"kaštel" Dobrinj, besides its original old stone houses and
narrow stonepaved streets, are its Gothic stone church of
St. Stephan with its well-known porch "cergan" and a tall
church tower, which kept many of their medieval characteristics.
From the top of the church tower there is a magnificant view
of the Kvarner bay. Our small town is particularly proud
of its museums with sacral, ethnographic and fossil collections
on permanent display. Several galleries exhibit the works
of art of renowned local and world artists. The gastronomic
offer is based on the traditional cooking, which attracts
numerous organized and individual guests for many years now.
Dobrinj will win you over with ist looks and location and
is a real gem and discovery for every visitor - its belvederre
with its wonderful sights is a special experience.
Dobrinj is the very soul of this area - here you don't watch
the history - you live it.
