Meline, in a popular way
called ''mud'', are placed in the western side of the gulf
of Klimno. There is a sandy and a skin-deep beach on which
you can walk a hundred meters while the water is still knee-deep.
Therefore is popular among the young people. It offers a possibility
of a good entertainment...prom ''picigin'' (playing with a
ball in the sea) to sand volleyball, because there are two
playgrounds for volleyball and one for football.
Meline owns a healing mud. Although nowhere is mentioned what are that disturbances
in which it is helpful, many people are satisfied examing it on their proper
skin so they come back to Meline.
The history of Meline- At the Roman time there was a salt-works (why neighbouring
place Soline was named) but closed during the Francopanas. Namely, Soline competed
with Venetian salt-works in Pag and Rab. For a while at Meline there was also
a brickyard, but they found that the material has been not suitable for making
bricks. There left only the water-front extended over Meline.
